Ceramic – Norgpol

Ceramic

Ceramic fibers are made from molten silicon and aluminium oxides in the spin process. White twisted clay-silicate fibers with high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity and good chemical resistance are obtained. Since pure fibre does not allow to be converted into textile products, organic fibres must be added to enable spinning. The organic part is about 15% and burns out the first warm. In addition, textile products are reinforced with a dratwy glass thread or a chrome-nickel steel wire (inconel). They have excellent resistance to sudden temperature fluctuations. They are resistant to water, fats, oils, liquid metals and most acids. They are used in various industries as thermal insulation in the construction of furnaces, dryers, fireplaces. Also used for insulation of boilers, pipelines, cables as a classic insulating material.

Properties:

  • resistance to continuous load up to 20°C. 1260°C
  • good isolating properties
  • high mechanical stability
  • high chemical and thermal stability
  • low specific weight and flexibility
  • resistance to water, oils, fats, liquid metals and most acids
  • good electro-insulating properties
  • good acoustic properties
  • easy to process
  • wide range of formats, uniform density, dimensional stability.
