Basalt fibres 650°C
Basalt fibre tape is made out of high quality basalt yarn twisted under high pressure. The resulting product is non-flammable and resistant to temperatures up to 650°C. Basalt fibre tapes are resistant to most acids, alkalis, bleaches and solvents. They find use in all kinds of insulation and thermal protection, protection for industrial cables, wires, pipes and hoses and as thermal insulation gaskets. Basalt fibres find use in insulation of heat pipelines, marine insulation, dilatation and as further processing material for f. ex. sewing compensators.
